Shane is a born and raised Calgarian. He has lived in Cranston for the past 18 years.  Shane has always been active in his community and has extensive volunteer experience, including:

  • Past President of The Cranston Community Association. 

 

  • Past Member of the South East Calgary Recreation Society, a community advisory group that worked with the City of Calgary for over 5 years to get the Seton YMCA, Quarry Park YMCA and Great Plains Arena built in our area.

 

  • Board Chair/Treasurer:  Brown Bagging For Calgary's Kids (BB4CK), a dynamic non-profit that feeds thousands of hungry school kids across Calgary every day. 

 

  • Volunteer Youth Coach: Calgary Superleagues Youth Ball Hockey/Head Coach: Calgary Fury Provincial Ball Hockey Team. 

Shane has also sat on numerous riding association boards for the UCP, Conservative Party of Canada and PCAA for the past 18 years. 

He is a graduate of Mount Royal College and has spent the past 28 years working in Commercial Insurance and Risk Management, including close to twenty years at the same employer.  He is married and has two sons. Shane and his wife are animal lovers and support local animal charities.  They have two rescue Chihuahua's and two adopted cats.
